The Session
1. How long does a session last?
A session with me should be relaxed and fun--no stress here! I will not rush you in your session, which generally lasts from 1-3 hours (longer if needed). Time is allowed for snacks, clothing changes, etc. My goal is for you to have fun and for the photographs to reflect it.
2. What should I wear?
Simple clothing often works best. Jeans, solid color shirts and bare feet are my favorite! For groups, coordinating colors provide more visual appeal. For newborns, I generally recommend one "outfit" for a few poses, and the rest "au naturale". Funky hats on kids are a fun accessory. Bring 'em if you have them and we'll try them out!
3. Where will the session take place?
Your home or on location at your favorite spot.
4. What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
I will make every effort to make your session happen, but if it just won't work, we will reschedule at your earliest possible convenience.
5. When will I get my CD?
It generally takes 1-2 weeks to proof the images and get them to you. Occasionally, I will provide a "sneak peek" on my blog before the CD is ready.
6. How many images will I get?
Generally, a session produces anywhere from 10-30 quality 5x7 images, each of which has been individually proofed by the photographer. Many of the images will be presented in both color and black and white.
7. What can I do to get the most from my session?
Come prepared to laugh and have a good time! The best smiles come from authentic laughter and happy moments. Feed your kids just prior to the session. Try to plan a session at a time you know your child is happy. For **newborns, sleeping babies often make the best pictures. Bring snacks and extra clothes if you like. I will contact you prior to your session to go over specifics for your location. And, I am always up for trying something new. If you have ideas you'd like to try, just say so! It might turn out to be your favorite picture.
**Newborns are best captured in the first week to ten days of life.
